Assessment for autism spectrum disorders involves the integration of information from multiple sources, such as psychological tests, observations, personal and medical history, and descriptions of current symptoms to determine the presence of an autism spectrum disorder (e.g., developmental differences in communication, social skills, emotional response, etc.). Data is compiled into a report that can be used for disability documentation or for development of a treatment plan.
Private psychological services, as defined by
22 TAC 465.1(10) are provided by Licensed Psychologists.
All of our psychologists are licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. Speech and Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists may also participate in the evaluation process.
Important Note: Texas public schools utilize Full and Individual Evaluations, which may include autism assessment, to establish special education criteria for all disability condition categories. Public schools provide this testing free of charge. Please contact your local public school district for more information.
